Quick answers to the most common questions from owners.
Setup & onboarding
Do I need a business to use StayLocalX as an owner?
No. You can sign up as an individual. Many owners are private property hosts, not registered businesses. See tax responsibility for the implications.
How long does Stripe onboarding take?
Usually 5-10 minutes. You need an ID document, your bank account details, and your address. If Stripe requests additional verification (e.g. selfie video), allow up to 24 hours for review.
Why do I need to fill in tax info on the web?
Because we need to issue you a self-billed invoice every month, and we need your business name and address for that document to be legally valid. The mobile app collects basic info; the web form is the formal step.
Earnings
How much can I earn?
Realistic ranges: €40-€280/month depending on your guest capacity and how many slots you fill. See the table in How you earn.
Can I set my own slot prices?
Yes, you can edit any slot price from the Slots screen. The platform sets a minimum floor per country and category, but you can always charge more than the suggested amount.
Do I get any cut of coupon redemptions?
Yes. You receive 70% of coupon redemption commissions, the same split as slot fees. Both are bundled into your single monthly payout on the 1st of each month — one bank transfer covering everything.
Payouts
When do I get paid?
Once a month, on the 1st (give or take 1-2 business days for Stripe to push the bank transfer).
Why is my payout less than I expected?
Possible reasons: an advertiser cancelled their subscription mid-month, a refund was issued, or your slot prices changed. Check your Money tab in the app to see the breakdown.
What if my Stripe account gets disconnected?
Earnings will be held until you reconnect. They're not lost, just paused. Reconnect from the owner dashboard and the next payout cycle will catch up.
Account & data
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Account → Delete account. Your data will be removed within 30 days, except for invoices we're legally required to keep for accounting purposes.
Can I have multiple properties?
Yes, unlimited properties under one account.
